The Coalition For At-Risk Youth(CARRY) honored Tyler Perry, Janie Bradford, Dr. Jerome Porath and Laura Hunter, J.D. at their annual Gala at the Beverly Hilton. The individuals being honored have personally touched the lives of at-risk youth. Founded by dermatologist Dr. Pearl Grimes in 2005, The Coalition for At-Risk Youth (CARRY) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to changing the lives of foster youth suffering from skin disorders and physical illnesses.
“Shall We Dance” celebrated an intimate evening with Motown. Entertainment included legendary singer and songwriter Brenda Russell; Grammy Award winner Thelma Houston; the amazing sounds of Fernando Harkless; and Adam “Aejay’e” Jackson’s Full Spectrum Band. Confirmed celebrity guests included: Angela Basset, Finola Hughes, Ian Buchanan,Lisa Vanderpump, Ken Todd, Kimberly Elise, Kali Hawk, Ellen Hollman, Angell Conwell, Jenifer Lewis, Brian White, Thelma Houston, Brenda Russel, Tyler Lepley, Yara Shahidi and The Lylas (the newly formed girl group featuring the sisters of Bruno Mars) among many others, who spent the evening supporting The Coalition For At Risk Youth (CARRY).
