New York Marriott Marquis on October 9 (NEW YORK) – October 11, 2013 – The 135th Street Agency has won two (2) first place “EMMA” awards (Excellence in Multi-Cultural Marketing Awards) by the National Association of Multi-Ethnicity in Communications (NAMIC). The firm was awarded for marketing tactics in the print and digital categories for campaigns with OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network’s (Tyler Perry’s “The Haves and the Have Nots” and “Love Thy Neighbor”) and BET (“The Game” Superfan contest). The EMMA Awards ceremony took place October 9 at NAMIC’s 27th Annual Conference at the New York Marriott Marquis.

Agency is recognized for WE tv campaign
The 135th Street Agency has won an “Award of Distinction” by the19th Annual Communicator Awards for Marketing Effectiveness on Season 2 of WE tv’s Braxton Family Values. The Communicator Awards is the largest and most competitive awards program honoring the creative excellence for communications professionals. Over 6,000 entries were received from across the US and around the world. This marks the third award that the agency has received for their creative work. In 2010, they were awarded anAmerican Advertising Federation Mosaic Award for their “Love N’ Haiti” campaign with the City of Miami.
The Communicator Awards are judged and overseen by the International Academy of the Visual Arts (IAVA), a 600+ member organization of leading professionals from various disciplines of the visual arts dedicated to embracing progress and the evolving nature of traditional and interactive media.
