Hollyshorts Studios ignites Kickstarter for Infinity starring Raquel Pomplun.
HollyShorts Studios, the organization behind the HollyShorts Film Festival (largest independent short film festival in Los Angeles) has launched a production arm and is creating high quality original content for multiple platforms featuring the festival’s top alumni brass. HollyShorts Studios is igniting a Kickstarter for one of its first original productions, INFINITY a new action/adventure web series with franchise appeal featuring a cast and crew of international superstars. The company’s goal is to raise $30,000 to help fund the first season of the web series.
For INFINITY, a top-secret project until now, the producers have assembled an all-star cast and crew who are all currently working on notable Hollywood franchises. INFINITY will star Raquel Pomplun (Playmate of the Year 2013) in an action-adventure role that showcases her strong acting and fighting talent. INFINITY is Written and Directed by L. Philippe Casseus, the acclaimed writer behind Lionsgate’s film Freelancers, which starred Robert DeNiro, Forrest Whitaker and Curtis 50 Cent Jackson. INFINITY also stars Jaylen Moore (Red Band Society, Hunger Games 2) who will also be in the upcoming The Fantastic Four film, French superstar Yassine Azzouz (La disintegration) and Kelly Albanese (Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Season 8 Motion Comic).
The stunt coordinator is Eddie Perez (The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, Star Trek, American History X); the choreographer is Chantal Robson (Has worked with artists Madonna, Usher, Christina Aguilera, ‘N Sync, Britney Spears,Demi Lovato, Victoria Justice and Madison Beers). INFINITY producers include Theo Dumont, L. Philippe Casseus and Daniel Sol. The web series is Executive Produced by Dumont, Casseus, Sol, Ben Andrews (Evil Slave Productions) and Lanre Idewu (FilmArtica LLC). For INFINITY HollyShorts Studios is teaming up with a consortium of filmmakers from the state of Washington and plan on filming several episodes in the state amongst various other locations.
The INFINITY web series follows Nyla (Raquel Pomplun) as she faces new nemesis and old friends. She is tasked to unearth seven mystical talismans, which when united have the power to unite mankind. Nyla confronts mysterious dark forces, bent on keeping the talismans hidden.
With the completed webisodes HollyShorts Studios will either self distribute the epic project or partner with a major studio or digital platform to showcase the first season. The project is already underway with high-level rehearsals for the stunts and choreography. Several of the photos from the rehearsals have been teased for weeks by Pomplun, Moore and other cast members but the project has been held under tight wraps until tonight’s announcement.
The campaign launched Friday night during a special birthday celebration for Raquel Pomplun held at Dave & Busters in Hollywood. Pomplun is on the fast track. She has a role in the upcoming Mark Wahlberg film The Gambler, which opens AFI. She also stars in Anchor Bay’s upcoming horror film Muck, which will be released in 2015 and she recently launched her official App, which is currently available in the iTunes store and Google’s marketplace.
