Reverend Al Sharpton, founder of the National Action Network, hosted the standing room only 2014 African American Vanguard Awards reception recently.  

 

The event was created by Lord, Bush & Randolph, LLC. (LBR) to recognize African American’s who have made a positive impact on the City of Los Angeles and surrounding communities.  This year LBR, in partnership with the Los Angeles Chapter (NAN-LA), honored the achievments of LA’s most prominent and influential African Americans.

Sponsored by SEIU Local 721 and Macy’s, some of the honorees in attendance included: Judge Greg Mathis, Congressmember Karen Bass, Compton Mayor, LA County Supervisor Mark Riley-ThomasApostle Beverly “BAM” Crawford, Pastor of Bible Enrichment Fellowship International Church, Macy’s Carol Jackson VP of  Government  and Public Affairs and Union Bank’s Julius Robinson, Vice President of Corporate Responsibility, to name a few. In addition, the group celebrated Rev. Al’s 60th birthday.

Honorees will be featured in the 2014 Most Influential African Americans Los Angeles Edition commemorative magazine that will be published in November.
