Experience the 1st Annual Light and Love Awards Gala, held at the prestigious African American Firefighter Museum (AAFF) on Saturday, April 18, 2015 where all proceeds will benefit foster children of Fred Jefferson Memorial Homes with attaining their college education, opportunity to participate in the arts and other extra-curricular activities within the Los Angeles, Orange and Riverside Counties.
Honorees include the multi-talented Comedian and Actress Kym Whitley (Raising Whitley), Activist, Motivational Speaker Eldridge Broussard, Stevie Wonder and his KJLH Radio Family and famed Philanthropist, Emmy Award-Winning Journalist and Actress Christine Devine (Fox 11). The evening will include a Star Studded Red Carpet, silent auction, live musical performances and tantalizing and superb cuisine from Chef Marilyn to the stars.
“We are proud to host the first annual Light and Love Awards fundraiser and hope that we will be able to raise enough funds for children within the system who can’t afford to pay for their education and other extra activities that would otherwise help to catapult them to the successful level they seek,” states Dr. Cecilia Jefferson, Founder of Fred Jefferson Memorial Homes. “Many do not realize that there are not enough generated funds to support every child with what he or she would like to accomplish. Hopefully, this event will be the beginning to change that deferred dream into a dream that becomes a reality.”
