BURBANK, CA (June 1, 2017) – BUZZR, FremantleMedia’s retro game show network, is turning two years old and is throwing a party like no other, available for the first time on DISH nationwide on Channel 245.  Originally launched on June 1, 2015, BUZZR is home to the most comprehensive vault of vintage game show content.  Since then, the network has been growing its reach steadily and recently added DISH to its distribution, making BUZZR available in every DMA nationwide.  Additionally, BUZZR remains the only digital multicast network with an international presence with the BUZZR After Hours programming block on YES TV in Canada.

“We are thrilled to give BUZZR fans national coverage on DISH,” said Ron Garfield, executive vice president and general manager of BUZZR.  “We have had hundreds of requests from DISH customers for BUZZR, and they are the perfect complement to our growing broadcast affiliate partnerships.”

“DISH households across all geographies and generations will enjoy BUZZR’s lineup of family-friendly, vintage game shows,” said Brian Norris, vice president of DISH Media Sales. “BUZZR will entertain millions of DISH homes with the classics.”

BUZZR is able to tap into more than 40,000 iconic game show episodes from the FremantleMedia North America (FMNA) library.  The network launched in 2015 with vintage hits such as Family Feud, Let’s Make A Deal, Card Sharks, Match Game, To Tell the Truth and Press Your Luck.  With access to FMNA’s robust portfolio of content, the network has continued to add to its programming line-up with game show enthusiast favorites Password Plus, Sale of the Century, Now You See It and Beat the Clock having joined the BUZZR family since the network originally premiered.  BUZZR plans to continue mining from this vault throughout the year, with further programming additions anticipated.

BUZZR also continues to present its iconic game shows in unique and fresh ways.  The network has seen success with creative programming blocks such as the BUZZR Bowl, a pre-game party surrounding the Super Bowl that highlights some of the best football talent to grace the shiny game show floor, as well as A Betty White Christmas, a special holiday programming treat that featured the reigning First Lady of Game Shows.   Both of these special programming stunts were met with such fan fervor that BUZZR created new editions of them since originally airing on the network.  Other fan favorites such as Lost & Found, which explored seldom seen, once seen, cancelled and highly successful series pilots, is also expected to return to the network later this year.

In addition to the recent agreement with DISH, BUZZR is also currently available on FOX owned and operated stations, along with extensive cable carriage via operators such as Spectrum, Comcast/Xfinity, Verizon, Frontier, Cablevision and Cox to name a few.  BUZZR’s national ad sales are handled by T Media Sales.
