Maggie Q and Cast Celebrate the Launch of Ballard, the New Michael Connelly Series
Prime hosted a red-carpet premiere for its new series, “Ballard,“ at The Culver Theater. The show stars Maggie Q. Detective Renée Ballard investigates long-forgotten cold cases. She uncovers a dark LAPD conspiracy.

The occasion celebrated its gripping new drama series, Ballard. This new series is now available to stream on Prime Video.

Stars in attendance included Maggie Q (Renée Ballard), Courtney Taylor (Samira Parker), and John Carroll Lynch (Thomas Laffont). Amy Hill (Tutu), Ricardo Chavira (Robert Olivas), and Victoria Moroles (Martina Castro) were also present. Other attendees were Rebecca Field (Colleen Hatteras), Noah Bean (Jake Pearlman), and Alain Uy (Nelson Hastings). Hector Hugo (Captain Berchem) and Michael Mosley (Ted Rawls) completed the lineup. Executive producers Michael Connelly, Kendall Sherwood, Michael Alaimo, Melissa Aouate, and Trish Hofmann also attended the event. Special guests included Derek Luh (Gen V) and Martyn Ford (House of David).
Ballard brings Michael Connelly’s bestselling novels to life once again. The story follows Detective Renée Ballard as she leads the LAPD’s new cold case division. With limited resources but relentless determination, she reopens decades-old crimes, including a serial killer’s trail and an unidentified John Doe. Her pursuit of justice leads her to uncover a dangerous conspiracy within the department. Ballard works alongside a team of dedicated volunteers. She also collaborates with retired detective Harry Bosch (Titus Welliver). Together, they confront trauma, institutional corruption, and grave personal risks.
