The independently produced television comedy “Pour Decisions” will screen in New York City on Saturday, October 4, 2025. It will also screen in Los Angeles on Saturday, October 11, 2025. These screenings follow two sold-out showings in Seattle on September 27. Each event will feature a local stand-up showcase, the pilot screening, and a Q&A with the creative team. The filmmakers have also announced that a festival run is planned after these screenings.
Pour Decisions is a single-camera mockumentary set in a struggling Seattle café. Investor Fats delivers a same-day ultimatum to owner Larry. The staff scrambles to save the shop. They launch “Baristas Behind Counters, Not Bars.” It’s a chaotic but well-intentioned plan. It involves awkward specialty drinks, sympathy sign-spinning, and custom donuts.
“We’re filmmakers who made a TV show in our hometown at an actual donut shop in South Seattle,” said director Jonathan Salmon. “We wrote it, we directed it, and we paid for it all,” added co-creator Abdi Ibrahim. Writer Timothy Mallon summed up the effort, saying, “It’s a testament to how much money and time we sunk into a story we all want to see told.”
The pilot was written by Timothy Mallon (Run) and Jonathan Salmon (Bizarro World). It is based on a concept by Abdi Ibrahim (Bizarro World, Lifeline) and Jonathan Salmon. Salmon directed the pilot. The cast includes Garrick Bernard as Larry. Holmes plays Emily. Hanad Abdi portrays Abdi. Tom Ainsley acts as Fats. Mandal is Gordon. Travis Thompson features as Frosty. The project was produced independently in South Seattle.
