Comic icon Stan Lee headlined the inaugural Stan Lee’s Kids Universe Day, a daylong celebration advocating literacy, education, and fun for over 100 kids in Los Angeles. Held at Giggles N’ Hugs in Century City, Stan Lee’s Kids Universe Day was the brainchild of Paris Kasidokostas Latsis and Terry Dougas at 1821 Comics (www.1821comics.com) and Stan Lee with his company POW! Entertainment. The event was sponsored by Stan Lee’s World of Heroes and was hosted by actress Jaime Pressly, whose five-year-old son also attended the celebration. Stan Lee’s Kids Universe Day featured a slew of interactive activities including a reading from Stan Lee, a face painting competition, and a variety of arts and crafts games throughout the event. Lee also welcomed families from the Make-A-Wish Foundation who were invited to the event.
At Stan Lee’s Kids Universe Day, 1821 Comics, Lee and POW! Entertainment unveiled their first two properties that are available beginning today from their new family-friendly imprint Stan Lee’s Kids Universe (SLKU). The first property from the label is colorful children’s book MONSTERS VS. KITTENS by Dani Jones. The second property SLKU unveiled is a game for the IOS platform (iTunes) titled GOOBEEZ: PIRATE ADVENTURE.
