SHARE’S 60th DENIM & DIAMONDS BOOMTOWN GALA A SUCCESS
(Beverly Hills – May 15, 2013) Over 500 guests attended “Denim & Diamonds” SHARE’s 60th Anniversary Boomtown fundraiser on Saturday, May 11 at the Beverly Hilton International Ballroom. The evening raised thousands of dollars for
“at risk” youth, developmentally disabled, abused, neglected children, as well as medical research for all forms of developmental disabilities.
The evening featured cocktails, live and silent auction, sit-down dinner and entertainment by the Grammy Award winning R & B band The Temptations Review featuring Dennis Edwards. The Temptations performed a medley of classic favorites
such as “My Girl”, “Just My Imagination” and “Get Ready”. Comedian John Byner emcee’d the evening which also included the fabulous dancing SHARE LADIES.
Celebrity guests were Nigel Lythgoe, Yakov Smirnoff, Robert Davi, Ryan O’Neal, Laura San Giacomo, Norm Crosby, Kate Lindner, Chris Geddy (Glee), Omar Benson Miller, Patrick Kilpatrick, Quinton Aaron, Joanna Carson, Susan Blakely, Michele Lee, Sondra Currie (The Hangover Trilogy), Julian Morris, Dr. Wendy Walsh, Lois Aldrin, Drew Baldwin, Daphne Wayans (VH1’s”Hollywood Exes”), Singer/Songwriter Di Lee, legendary stuntman Bob Yerkes, L.A. City Councilmember Jan Perry and Suzan Hughes.
Donelle Dadigan, President and Founder of the Hollywood Museum received the 2013 “Shining Spirit Award”. Dadigan was introduced by L. A City Councilmember Tom LaBonge She received video tributes from LA City Councilmember Eric Garcetti, publisher of The Hollywood Reporter Lynne Segall, and movie critic Leonard Maltin among others.
Wendy Hammers led a spirited live auction for specialty items such as 7 days for 2 at the Colorado Cattle Company & Guest Ranch, Dinner for 24 at Spago with the menu created by Wolfgang Puck, breakfast with Larry King, Norm Crosby and friends at Nate ‘n Al’s and a walk on part on the CBS hit show “NCIS”.
SHARE President Debra Cirilov Couch presented Caryn Mintz with the “Member of the Year” award. Charlene Painter was show director and choreographer and Gary Smith was Executive producer. The grand finale featured all the SHARE members performing a special 60th Anniversary dance montage, “I Know We’ve Come So Far”.
