R.I.P Carla Laemmle A Link To Hollywood’s Silent Era Dies At 104
Back in 2011 I had a chance to celebrate the 102nd birthday of Carla Laemmle. Carla Laemmle, was a dancer and actress, her uncle, Carl Laemmle, founded Universal Studios, where she grew up, Carla was one of the last links to Hollywood’s silent film era, she was 104.
Carla was in good health and died peacefully at her home on June 12th, 2014. According to her niece,”her heart simply stopped beating.” It was a real honor for me to spend tine with Carla and talking with her. I asked her what was her secret to such a long life, with a tinkle in her eye and her special laugh she said,”a good love life.” She also said she never thought about her age and she always felt she was in her 20’s.
