It is a story that is old, but unfortunately still new. It should be required viewing for anyone in charge of buying food in ANY quantity.
Participation in the FAIR FOOD movement is a small virtually invisible, painless act for most people but it makes a world of difference to the unseen millions who make America’s breadbasket possible. The fight must continue. The film could have been shorter, as some of the scenes depicting the march and the hunger strike seemed to repeat the same footage although the dialogue was different. The subtitles were necessary, but were occasionally distracting.
Food Chains premiered at the 2014 Berlin Film Festival and screened subsequently at the Tribeca Film Festival and Guadalajara Film Festival. Food Chains was released nationwide November 21st. The film’s Executive Producers include Eva Longoria and Eric Schlosser.
