The nominations for the 2016 Premios Platino were announced by a diverse group of Iberoamerican talent, including Adrian Nunez, Amaury Nolasco, Carla Vila, Celinés Toribio, Edward James Olmos, Federico Álvarez, Goya Toledo, Javier Fuentes León, Marlon Moreno, Patricia de León, Patricia Velasquez, Reynaldo Pacheco and Yareli Arizmendi.  The festivities were held at the London Hotel in West Hollywood. The 3rd Annual Premios Platino Awards will take place on July 24th, in Puna Del Este, Urugay.

 

Furthermore in attendance at the Los Angeles event were: Composer Federico Jusid (Nominee Best Original Score for “Magallanes”), Brionne Davis (“El abrazo de la serpiente”), Filmmaker Alejandro Brugues (“Juan of the Dead”), Venezuelan actors Illeana Simancas and Uruguayan director Juan Feldman and more.

 

During the nomination event, iconic Mexican TV host and actor Adal Ramones was announced as host of the 3rd Annual Premios Platino of Iberoamerican Cinema. He will join the two previously announced hosts, the Uruguayan actress, singer and designer Natalia Oreiro and the Spanish actor, director, scriptwriter and producer Santiago Segura.

 

The event will be broadcast in more than 50 countries by TNT worldwide and in addition by major national TV channels throughout Iberoamerica.

 

The 3rd Annual Premios Platino has again set a new record of 826 qualifying films, of which 26 are nominated, representing 11 of the 23 Iberoamerican countries.
