‘Power Rangers’ Press Conference Part 1 & 2
SABAN’S POWER RANGERS follows five ordinary teens who must become something extraordinary when they learn that their small town of Angel Grove — and the world — is on the verge of being obliterated by an alien threat. Chosen by destiny, our heroes quickly discover they are the only ones who can save the planet. But to do so, they will have to overcome their real-life issues and before it’s too late, band together as the Power Rangers.
I sat down to watch this reboot 2017 version of the ‘Power Rangers’ with no previous history of the original film and I was more than surprised I found my self thoroughly enjoying this action packed super fun movie. Often times big block buster movies packed with special effects tends to compensate for weak story lines and or bad acting performances, well not so with this new and improved ‘Power Rangers’. Though basic in its plot outline what gives this script life is the casting of some pretty terrific young actors and of course dialogue and issues that are relevant to teens today.. from sexual identity to special needs and yes the basic teenage rebellion that many of us have experienced or had friends who did.
Screenwriter John Gatins understands that force that resides under the surface for many young people and his ability to put that to paper clearly has garnered him success as a writer. Along with great directing by Dean Israelite it is clear that the collaboration between these two creatives made a film that original fans will like and attract newbies like myself. ‘Power Rangers’ is not just a teenage film, it is a movie for all to experience, so grab the family and friends; settle in with your popcorn and drinks and enjoy !!
