Jamaica Inn Screening-1

JAMAICA INN screened at West Hollywood’s Pacific Design Center’s Silver Screen Theatre (8687 Melrose Ave).  The event
kicked off with a reception at 7pm featuring a rare look at some candid, behind-the-scenes moments from Hitchcock’s personal life, followed by a panel discussion with all three of Hitchcock’s granddaughters — Tere Carrubba, Mary Stone, and Katie Fiala –
who will be speaking about their memories of their iconic grandfather with Charles Cohen, KCET’s host of the Friday night series COHEN FILM CLASSICS.

A rediscovered classic from 1939 and based on a book by the author of REBECCA and THE BIRDS, the film stars a sinister Charles Laughton in a surprisingly dark period drama about a young woman who discovers that her uncle heads up a gang of smugglers who
lures ships to their doom on the rocky coasts of Victorian era England. The movie features Maureen O’Hara in her first major motion picture role.
