# ROXY Now On Digital Platforms

In #Roxy, the classic tale of Cyrano de Bergerac is retold in this modern day version centered around a group of high schoolers. With Cyrus Nollen (played by Jake Short) who is rumored to use his skills as a hacker to reap vengeance on those who make fun of his prominent nose. In this teen version adapted for our tech-savvy audience, Cyrus has a witty personality and seems able to defend himself with words and wry humor.

But alas its high school and anyone that is different is targeted by the resident bullies but Cyrus knows he can handle what is thrown at him. What he can’t handle is telling his childhood friend and his secret love Roxy(played by Sarah Fisher) how he really feels about her.

So when Roxy asks him to help her connect with the handsome Christian Newville (played by Booboo Stewart) Cyrus cannot say no. What follows is Cyrus creating a perfect virtual reality Christain who enchants Roxy with classic literature and heartfelt poetry. Roxy becomes spellbound by Christian’s online presence so will Christain live up to his romantic online persona and will Cyrus lose the love of his life.
The lesson in his this classic tale is about letting yourself go to be the best version of you and trusting that the right person for you will see and your true heart and love you in spite of the physical.

I think at some point in our lives many of us may have experienced liking someone but not quite sure how to get there attention. Or at the very least, we question if we are good enough for the person we desire. So I am glad to see a fresh take on a universal topic.

#ROXY is Cyrano de Bergerac for the cyber age. In the vein of CLUELESS and 10 THINGS I HATE ABOUT YOU I, #ROXY is a fun and enjoyable adaptation of a classic. Jake Short is fun, witty and lovable as Cyrus his previous films Disney XD original series Mighty MedandLab Rats: Elite Force). The movie also stars Danny Trejo  as Principal Castillo.

The film was written by Tony Binns and directed by Michael Kennedy. It was produced by Camille Beaudoin and Eric Rebalkin of Mosiac Entertainment. The film has a running time of 105 minutes and will not be rated by the MPAA.

Upstream Flix in association with Spesch released #ROXY on digital platforms such as iTunes, Amazon, Google Play, Xbox, Fandango Now, Direct TV, Dish Network and through local cable providers starting November 6.
