Well, it would seem like you had better be caught up to all things in the Marvel Universe to get a decent grasp of this latest installment Spiderman: Far From Home. With that said if you have not seen: Avengers End Game, then beware for spoiler alerts.

In Spider-Man™: Far From Home, Tom Holland(Spiderman) returns as our friendly neighborhood Super Hero who, following the events of Avengers: Endgame, must step up to take on new threats in a world that have changed forever. The film expands the Spider-Man film universe, taking Peter Parker out of his comfort zone and his home in Queens, New York City, and hurling him across Europe during what was supposed to be a school vacation. Peter keeps asking himself why he can’t be a typical teenager all the while dodging Nick Fury’s (Samuel Jackson) calls.

Samuel L. Jackson is Nick Fury in Columbia Pictures’ SPIDER-MAN: ™ FAR FROM HOME.

But Fury won’t give up on finding Peter, and when he does, it’s about telling Peter a new threat that needs to be stopped called “The Elementals” each representing the four elementals, Earth, Air, Water, and Fire. The monstrous beings have emerged through a hole torn in the universe -another aftershock from the events of Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame.

Peter then meets Quentin Beck(Jake Gyllenhaal), a Super Hero who comes from an alternate Earth and is determined to stop the Elemental Creatures. Fury and Beck, who is also known as Mysterio, want Spider-Man to join the battle, but this is way out of Peter’s comfort zone, and he pleads with Fury to bring in one of the other Avengers to deal with it. Unfortunately for Peter, they’re all unavailable, so he must join forces with Beck in an epic clash with consequences he can’t yet imagine. And of course the big question? Can Beck be trusted?

Jake Gyllenhaal is Mysterio in Columbia Pictures’ SPIDER-MAN: ™ FAR FROM HOME.

There are a few things that seem repetitive, and some plots twist that could have been stronger but in the end Spiderman: Far From Home offers a great July 4th summer kick-off movie.
