On Saturday, July 13, 2019, the Concern Foundation held its 45th Annual Block Party honoring the Carroll Family for their lifetime of contribution towards the Foundation. This over the top, extraordinary cornucopia of cuisine, wine & spirits didn’t disappointment as thousands of hungry Angelenos traversed through LA traffic to the Backlot of Paramount Studios in the heart of Hollywood. Not only did guests eat and drink their way through this fabulous soirée, but they were also entertained by the Tom Nolan Band at center stage and D’City Sound & Events. Party revelers also got their gambling “fix” of casino-style games like craps (my favorite), blackjack and roulette. There were amazing items generously donated for the silent auction and the live auction which offered spectacular excursions to Patagonia, London, and the Grand Velas Hotel in Cabo San Lucas fetched tens of thousands of dollars for cancer research.

The backlot streets were filled with over 75 high-end food and beverage stations under the direction of Nancy Eisenstadt. Those restaurants included STK Los Angeles (loved those sliders and chopped salad), Factor’s Famous Deli served their famous pastrami, Gyu-Kaku Japanese BBQ, Fogo de Chao, Stonefire Grill, Ocean Prime Beverly Hills, Pink’s Famous Hot Dogs, Maria’s Italian Kitchen, Jayde’s, Bistro Jolie among others. There were too many to mention here. You’ll just have to attend next year to find out! Wine, spirits and other beverage purveyors included Titos Homemade Vodka, Macallan Nude Tequila, Ascencion Cellars, Dusty Nabor Wines, Buzz Box, Asahi Beer U.S.A, Don Francisco Coffee, and many others.

For the 15th year in a row, Concern helped celebrate “The Best of LA 2019® on Los Angeles Magazine Street which featured comfy white leather lounges, photo booths, food stations, and dancing. LA Magazine also donates $25,000 each year for additional research!

Every year, Concern Foundation outdoes itself with its annual block party. Last year, the Foundation raised over $1.8 million dollars towards cancer research. This year, they will surpass that amount. It is an event not to be missed! I can’t wait for next year! Come join me!
