The film features five Mexican-American, Los Angeles-based Immigration lawyers who created a support group to navigate the current anti-Immigrant legal landscape. The film’s content is especially timely as we head towards the Presidential election and the current concerns about vulnerable communities during the pandemic.
The film is screening online tomorrow, any time for free, as part of the Palm Springs International Film Festival:https://www.psfilmfest.org/2020-shortfest/film-finder/status-pending

As Priscilla explains “My way into this film is through my sister, Araceli, who is one of the five featured in the film. I saw first-hand how she struggled to navigate the current system and when I found out about her support group of first-generation immigration lawyers, I was inspired to tell this story from their point of view.”
STATUS PENDING is supported by Tribeca Film Institute, winning their TFI IF/Then Shorts Pitch for the American West in 2019. The film is also supported by the National Association of Latino Independent Producers (NALIP). The film is a 26-minute documentary in English and Spanish with subtitles.
