Actor Dash Mihok talks about his latest role in Armor. Dash is known for his incredible range. He can dive deep into complex characters. In this action-packed thriller, he takes on the part of an unhinged, volatile member of a high-stakes heist team. It’s the role that lets him shine—raw, unpredictable, and completely unhinged.

With Armor boasting an intense storyline, we were excited to hear Dash’s insights about stepping into such a chaotic character. The film has an iconic cast led by Sylvester Stallone. Dash faced challenges playing someone so unpredictable. Working alongside legends in the genre provided a unique experience. We knew Dash’s take on the experience would be as compelling as the film.

DASH MIHOK (Smoke)

Dashiell Mihok (My-hock), AKA Dash and “Diz” Mihok, was born in Greenwich Village, New York City. His often eclectic choices in smaller independent projects are evident. He chooses roles like the recent Wildflower. They show a stark contrast to his major-studio roles. These include playing the motion-capture lead villain Alpha Male in the big-budget film I Am Legend. This wide range has branded Mihok as a multidimensional craftsman. He is a friend to everyone he’s collaborated with over his 100-plus credits in television/film acting and directing. The actor’s career spans over 30 years. He has taken on such roles as Benvolio in Baz Luhrmann’s Romeo + Juliet and Pvt. 1cl. Doll in Terrence Malick’s The Thin Red Line. Additional roles include Jason in Roland Emmerich’s The Day After Tomorrow and Sgt. Jeremy Mitchell in Wolfgang Peterson’s The Perfect Storm. Officer Keough in David O. Russell’s Silver Linings Playbook was also a notable role. His early work in Barry Levinson’s Sleepers was significant. More recently, he appeared in Adrian Lyne’s Deep Water. Mihok is best known for creating the character of Bunchy Donovan in the hit series “Ray Donovan.”

Mihok’s early roots in New York are significant to him. He was born and raised in Westbeth Artists Housing to Andrea Mihok and Broadway actor Raymond Thorne. Looking back, the musical thespian has called this experience “one of the greatest gifts.” It was something an overtly curious kid with Tourette syndrome ultimately ever have. I felt normal by being immersed in a wild environment. This included everything from painters, dancers, jazz musicians, actors, to graffiti artists.”

Mihok attended the Bronx High School of Science, as well as the Professional Children’s School. He has been a musician since the age of eight. Many know him as “Diz.” He started releasing music in 2009 under the name Diz and The Fam.

Mihok resides in Los Angeles and New York. He lives with his wife, the musician and Latin artist Valeria Mason, and their two daughters, Olivia and Catalina.
