Derrick M. Eason, born in Suffolk, Virginia, grew up as a military brat, moving across multiple states due to his father’s U.S. Air Force service. He studied art at Saint Augustine’s University, an HBCU. He met and married his wife there. Yet, he left in his junior year to pursue animation during the rise of computer graphics. Finding work in a saturated market proved challenging. Still, Derrick steadily built his reputation as an artist. He did this through commissions and social media networking. This led to collaborations with wrestling promotions, TV shows, and other creative projects. A decade ago, Derrick was diagnosed with an inoperable but non-life-threatening pituitary tumor. The diagnosis, along with the end of his marriage, pushed him to dedicate himself to his art. Now, he is a writer, painter, sculptor, and creator. He has embraced his journey. He is committed to achieving his goals through his craft. He relies on his talent and determination to pave the way ahead.
