An Evening Honoring Remarkable Women and Supporting Meaningful Causes
The International Women’s Day Gala 2025 was held on March 8th at the Taglyan Complex. It was an unforgettable evening of empowerment, recognition, and philanthropy. Organized by Sharon Doyle, Founder of the Women’s Empowerment Summit, the gala brought together an inspiring array of leaders. These change-makers and advocates came together to honor extraordinary women. They celebrated progress in gender equality. They also supported meaningful community initiatives. Emmy-winning actor Kim Estes elegantly hosted the evening. Meredith Thomas, actress and producer known for her many Lifetime television movies, joined him. They guided the audience through a night of celebration and impact.
The night’s highlight was the Women’s Inspiration Awards, which celebrated Congresswoman Diane Watson’s outstanding achievements. The event also honored pageant producer Virgelia Villegas. It recognized martial artist and actress Cynthia Rothrock. The celebration included fashion icon Sue Wong, designer Rohini Bedi, and global influencer Natasha Graziano. Entertainment throughout the evening was nothing short of spectacular. Guests enjoyed performances by accomplished musicians Michael Raye, mezzo-soprano Hiroko Yoshinaga. Singer Jamie Bacani Darwin also performed. Additionally, LA Dance Vibes gave an electrifying dance presentation.
A special moment in the evening featured the legendary Carol Connors. Her unparalleled influence as a singer, songwriter, and composer has shaped pop culture. This is through her iconic hits. She delivered a moving performance of “You Loved My Night Away,” captivating the audience with her timeless artistry. The “Golden Era of Beauty” fashion show added another dazzling touch to the evening. Exquisite designs by Ken Barlis (Project Runway winner), Will Franco, and Tommy Le celebrated elegance and creativity.
Beyond the glamour and entertainment, the event carried a profound purpose. It served as a fundraiser for organizations aiding survivors of the devastating Los Angeles fires.
