DreamWorks Animation is sprinkling a little extra magic this year. It is transforming its global preschool hit into a full-length cinematic event — Gabby’s Dollhouse: The Movie.

Since its debut in 2021, Gabby’s Dollhouse has captured the hearts of kids and families worldwide. The show enchants with its colorful world of curiosity, friendship, and fun. Acclaimed storytellers Traci Paige Johnson and Jennifer Twomey created the beloved Netflix series. It blends live action and animation. The series encourages children to embrace creativity, flexible thinking, and a growth mindset.

Now, fans can enjoy Gabby’s biggest adventure yet. In the new film, Gabby is played by Laila Lockhart Kraner. She sets off on a road trip with her Grandma Gigi. Four-time Grammy Award winner Gloria Estefan voices Grandma Gigi. Their journey takes them to the vibrant, cat-filled city of Cat Francisco. Gabby’s most prized possession — her magical dollhouse — falls into the hands of eccentric cat lady Vera. Vera is brought to life by Oscar® nominee Kristen Wiig. Gabby must embark on an exciting mission through the real world. She needs to reunite her feline friends and save her dollhouse before it’s too late.

The film features an all-star voice cast including Saturday Night Live favorites Ego Nwodim, Kyle Mooney, and Melissa Villaseñor, along with Thomas Lennon (Reno 911!, American Dad!), Jason Mantzoukas (Invincible, Big Mouth), and comedian Fortune Feimster (Velma). The original series’ fan-favorite voices return for the film. These beloved characters include Pandy Paws, CatRat, Cakey, DJ Catnip, Baby Box, and MerCat.

Ryan Crego directed Gabby’s Dollhouse: The Movie. He is known for I Heart Arlo and Home: Adventures with Tip & Oh. Gabby’s Dollhouse: The Movie is produced by Steven Schweickart. His impressive DreamWorks credits include How to Train Your Dragon, The Croods, and Kung Fu Panda 4. Kung Fu Panda 4 recently grossed nearly $500 million worldwide. Jennifer Twomey and Traci Paige Johnson are the executive producers. They bring their signature mix of heart and humor from the hit Netflix series to the big screen.

According to Nielsen, Gabby’s Dollhouse ranked as the ninth-most-watched streaming original series of 2024. Netflix is expanding the show to 100 episodes across 11 seasons. The franchise has blossomed into a powerhouse preschool brand. It inspires a top-selling toy line, publishing deals, and home and apparel collections. It also includes original music and an award-winning mobile app.
