
Hall of Fame R&B Historian Tyrone DuBose Brings “A Moment in Music History” to Kweli TV
Two Weeks After Debut on iHeartRadio, Signaling a Remarkable TV/Radio Comeback in the Same Month, While Recovering from Cancer
Tyrone DuBose is a renowned R&B Historian and Hall of Fame inductee. He makes a powerful comeback to television after a two-year absence. DuBose is recovering from cancer. He returns with his signature segment, A Moment in Music History. It is expanding from social media into Kweli Television’s global platform. The new series debuts October 26 on Kweli Television (kweliTV).

A Moment in Music History: From Social Media to Studio
Mentored by Casey Kasem, DuBose began the weekly social media segment like his award-winning audio portion. He spoke of R&B History and included little known facts. He also shared chart history and important information. Earlier this year, he re-invented the format. He has transformed the segment with The Network Studios. Co-Executive producer Michael Blaylock was instrumental in this transformation. “Being a part of A Moment in Music History is game-changing,” says Blaylock. “Each episode rekindles the emotions we’ve all felt—joy, sorrow, nostalgia, and celebration. This show chronicles R&B history. It challenges listeners to deepen their musical knowledge. It helps preserve the legacy of the genre. It’s a music lover’s dream.” Since its re-invention in March, it has over 250,000 views.

A Difficult but Triumphant and Inspiring Year
This release comes at a pivotal moment in DuBose’s life. Earlier this year, he was diagnosed with cancer and had been undergoing weeks of radiation and therapy. He is now in recovery. The new series marks his return to television and radio audiences. The audio component of A Moment in Music History is already receiving outstanding reviews on 1070 AM Memphis, Tennessee.
