Alumni of The Groundlings Theatre and School is coming together to support the legendary, non-profit institution that has been severely impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
On Tuesday, June 2 at 6:00 p.m. PT, Groundlings alumni Stephanie Courtney (Progressive Insurance’s Flo), Mikey Day (Saturday Night Live), Jim Rash (Community), Mitch Silpa (Spy), and Michaela Watkins (The Unicorn) will lead an interactive storytelling experience and Q&A to discuss the crazy road from their Groundlings audition to becoming a Main Company member. Current Groundling Annie Sertich (Silicon Valley) will moderate the discussion.
The special benefit event will be run through Zoom and tickets are $25.00 for General Admission and $20.00 for Groundlings Students and Members. Enrollment is open now at https://www.groundlings.com/shows/the-groundlings-journey.
On Thursday, June 4 at 6:00 p.m. PT, Groundlings alumni and comedy power couple Ben Falcone and Melissa McCarthy, along with Academy Award winning actress Octavia Spencer, will teach a special live-streamed class based on “Creating Characters.”
Falcone, McCarthy, and Spencer will talk about the process of developing unique and memorable characters for film and television. The discussion will be followed by a Q&A. The class will be conducted via Zoom. Enrollment will open on Sunday, May 31 at 10:00 a.m. PT at www.groundlings.com and will cost $50.00.
