Maria Allred’s “The Texture Of Falling”

Maria Allred Films is delighted to introduce director Maria Allred’s debut feature film The Texture of Falling. Starring Julie Webb,  Benjamin Farmer, Patrick D. Green, and Allred herself in one of the leading roles, the film is a testament to this visionary filmmaker’s unconventional approach to storytelling. The Texture of Falling presents a story that blurs the lines between – reality and fiction, process and exposition – in a very experiential fashion. The movie recently had its World Premiere in Spain at the Marbella International Film Festival where it received a nomination for Best Director.

The Texture of Falling is unlike any film that you’ve ever seen.  Set against the lush landscape of the Pacific Northwest, it’s a film that transcends genre and defies classification. Part psychological drama and part sexual thriller, it’s reminiscent of films as varied as David Lynch’s Mullholland Drive and Charlie Kaufman’s Adaptation and Synecdoche, New York.

It follows Louisa (Julie Webb) as a filmmaker reeling from a recent professional dejection, who meets Luke (Patrick Green), a pianist experiencing his own artistic crisis.  Despite a long-term relationship with Ati, (Donny Persons), Louisa is intrigued by Luke.   As Louisa falls for him, her skepticism of romantic love begins to unravel as she surrenders to her passions.  But as Louisa and Luke’s romance blooms, a simultaneous story arises as Michael (Benjamin Farmer), a wayward architect estranged from his wife, meets Sylvia, an enigmatic painter.
