The Indian Los Angeles Film Festival opened to a packed house on Friday, April 23, with the Opening Night screening of Breaking the Code by Ben Rekhi and Svetlana. Making its world premiere, Breaking the Code is a deeply personal documentary that follows Rekhi as he retraces his father’s journey from a humble childhood in newly independent India to becoming a tech pioneer in Silicon Valley.
At its heart, it’s a moving story about migration, sacrifice, love, and breaking barriers for Indians in America. Filmmakers, artists, and community supporters came together to celebrate films across genres, creating a night that felt both inspiring and empowering. The festival continued through April 26.
