Lewd, drunken Uncle Nick (Brian Posehn, Mr. Show, The Sarah Silverman Program) stumbles his way through his brother’s cookie cutter-family’s annual Christmas gathering in the hopes of scoring with a super-hot party guest. But the arrival of his equally crass sister coupled with Nick’s liquor-fueled faux pas cause family secrets to bubble to the surface that might spell disaster for the whole clan before the night is over. Presented by Errol Morris, UNCLE NICK is a raucously funny comedy of inappropriate behavior, uncomfortably interrupted trysts, and a monumental over serving of ten-cent beers.
If you’re looking for a sentimental Christmas movie to add to the line of holiday fare, ‘Uncle Nick’ is not it. In Chris Kasick darkly comic anti-Christmas movie Uncle Nick(Brian Posehn) is drunk, crass and unattractive who always seems to piss off everyone in his life. The movie essentially takes place over the course of one night where Nick is invited to supposedly perfect home and perfect life of his younger brother. To say Nick hates his brother is an understatement and relishes insulting him at every turn while lusting after the very sexy young 20 year-old step daughter of his newly married brother. The ensemble cast is solid and the script is at times funny, there are moments of nakedness that some may find offensive or unnecessary to the story. ‘Uncle Nick’ is not for every one but if you like dark comic fare, then ‘Uncle Nick’ might be the film you will add to your Christmas list.
