World Premiere Saturday (6/22) at Dances with Films Festival 

Writer, actor, and director Virginia de Witt shared with us about crafting the short film and bringing the vision to life. Karita will have its world premiere Saturday (6/22) at the Dances with Films Festival at 12:30 pm at TCL Chinese 6 Theaters. 

Filmed in Tokyo, and helmed by co-directors Koji Ueda and Virginia de Witt, ‘Karita’ is the coming-of-age story of an American in Tokyo who tries to impress a group of people by stealing a car. This unusual short film was made as a co-production between Japan and the United States via Nion Tokyo and Please Extinguish.
