Mike Tyson’s Family Supports Women’s Reentry Programs

Founded by Dr. Rita Ali, mother-in-law of boxing legend Mike Tyson, We2Matter is a nonprofit organization. It is dedicated to empowering formerly incarcerated women. The organization helps them rebuild their lives with dignity, purpose, and opportunity. After serving time for a crime she did not commit, Dr. Ali experienced firsthand the trauma and systemic challenges women face during incarceration and reentry. Her powerful story became the foundation for We2Matter’s mission. The mission is to offer women with essential resources including housing assistance, job training, counseling, and financial literacy. These resources support successful reintegration into society.
The annual We2Matter Fundraiser Gala returned to West Hollywood, California, on August 13, 2025. It was a powerful evening celebrating resilience, transformation, and the importance of second chances. The gala is more than just a fundraising event. It is a vibrant experience. It honors the strength and determination of women affected by the criminal justice system. Before the red carpet and formal program, attendees and participants will engage in wellness and resource experiences. These experiences include debt relief consultations, credit repair and financial literacy support, jewelry-making stations, nail pampering, and employment resources. All activities are designed to support women’s empowerment and self-sufficiency. Attendees included Anthony Anderson, Miguel Tyson, Columbus Short, Eric Benet, Al B. Sure, Jesse Metcalfe and others.
This event helps fund critical programs. These programs reunite women with their families. They guide them toward stable employment and equip them with tools for long-term success. Guests enjoyed live entertainment, community recognition, and an atmosphere of celebration and support. At its heart, the We2Matter Gala is a reminder. With compassion, advocacy, and access to opportunity, every woman has the potential. She has the potential to create a new beginning.
Your donation to We2Matter is more than a contribution—it’s a commitment to justice, healing, and transformation. Every dollar helps formerly incarcerated women access the tools they need to rebuild their lives. They can reunite with their families. They can step confidently into a future filled with purpose and possibility. By supporting We2Matter, you’re not just funding programs—you’re restoring hope, dignity, and opportunity to women who deserve a second chance. Together, we can break the cycle of incarceration.
