Warner Bros. Pictures is bringing us something special this fall with One Battle After Another, the newest film from Paul Thomas Anderson. He wrote and directed it. He also produced it. He pulled together a talented cast led by Leonardo DiCaprio, Sean Penn, and Benicio Del Toro. The film also features Regina Hall, Teyana Taylor, and breakout star Chase Infiniti.
The story focuses on Bob (DiCaprio), who is a former revolutionary. Now he lives in a haze of paranoia. He is tucked away off the grid with his strong-willed daughter, Willa (Infiniti). His old nemesis (played by Penn) suddenly reappears after 16 years. Willa goes missing. Bob is forced to confront a past he’s been running from. The journey unfolds grippingly and emotionally. Both father and daughter must face the fallout of his choices. They fight to survive.
Anderson has his trusted team behind the scenes too. Michael Bauman serves as director of photography. Florencia Martin is in charge of production design. Andy Jurgensen is cutting the film. Colleen Atwood handles costumes. Cassandra Kulukundis manages casting. Jonny Greenwood composes the score. Together, they’ve created a film that promises to be as visually striking as it is emotionally powerful.
One Battle After Another is a Ghoulardi Film Company production, distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures. It hits theaters worldwide starting September 24, 2025, and opens in the U.S. on September 26, 2025. Fans will get to experience it in VistaVision, 70mm, and IMAX® — the way Anderson loves to showcase his stories.
