A snowstorm forces two people who made an online connection to unwillingly extend their one-night stand.

Two Night Stand

Miles Teller (The Spectacular Now) and Analeigh Tipton (Crazy, Stupid, Love) star as Alec and Megan in the romantic comedy, Two Night Stand.  The supporting cast includes: Jessica Szohr (Gossip Girl) as Megan’s friend, roommate and trusted confidant, Faiza, and Scott Mescudi (aka, rapper, Kid Cudi) as Faiza’s boyfriend, Cedric; Josh Salatin (The Carrie Diaries), as Megan’s ex, Chris, and Kellyn Lindsay (B.R.O.O.D.) as his new girlfriend, Becca; writer-comedian Michael Showalter (The State) as weatherman, Rick Raines, and Leven Rambin (Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters) as Daisy.

Two Night Stand marks the feature directorial debut of Max Nichols and screenwriting debut of Mark Hammer whose script was on the 2011 Black List. Completing Nichols’ production team are: director of photography Bobby Bukowski (Rampart); production designer Molly Hughes (art director and art department veteran from the Harry Potter film series), film editor Matt Garner (The Young Victoria) and costume designer Amy Roth (Ironside).

It’s the landscape of our modern dating world and that is the theme first time director Max Nichols explores with ‘Two Night Stand’ as Megan hooks up with Alec for a night of recreational sex.  After spending the night they wake up to a monster snow storm that them traps in his apartment for another night. Now they are forced to talk with each other and have real one and one communication. And in this first act we see the brilliant writing of Mark Hammer as we enjoy the banter that comes with this extremely uncomfortable situation.

The film is cute and funny; Megan(played by Annaleigh Tipton) gets the right tone with her character as many females in her age group  will resonate with her off center quirkiness as she tries to rebuild her confidence again after a  recent breakup with her long term boyfriend.  However, I am not sure if I like the film turning into standard Hollywood fare, but I will leave all judgements aside and let the audience decide on the popularity of cyber dating and finding meaningful relationships.

‘Two Night Stand’ in select theaters now on on iTunes October 3rd, 2014.
