Hailing from Stockton, CA, Leake was raised by a single mother and initially was set on a course to play basketball. Ultimately, he traded his sneakers for a pen and began to pursue “his calling”. A FAMILY AFFAIR takes audiences on a journey through his hometown of Stockton, CA, using Brandon’s unique blend of humor and depth. Brandon connects his personal experiences to universal themes of community, loss, love, and hope.
Leake’s spoken word art is both personal and insightful, ranging from a varied list of topics. Whether acknowledging his grief after losing his sister or commenting on police brutality in our society, his words serve as commentary as well as inspiration.
