DIRECTOR/WRITER ERICKA MALONE TALKS ABOUT HER HOLLYWOOD JOURNEY

Ericka Nicole Malone wears many hats in the entertainment industry. As a producer, director, and writer with several successful projects Ericka continues to challenge herself while supporting others in the business.

Ericka’s newest works are a one-hour TV Drama ‘Della;‘ and the upcoming short film “Dreams from the Edge”, her original biopic “Remember Me: The Mahalia Jackson Story” and Executive Producer of an animated series, “JG and the BC Kids” written and created by acclaimed actress Janet Hubert.

She is directing her daughter Alexia Faith Roberts in her latest project “Dreams From The Edge” along with some legendary African American Hollywood talent such as Bernadette Stanis (Good Times) and Mark Curry (Hanging With Mr. Cooper), (See Dad Run). Both of these actors have starred in numerous shows on television and in film.

We had a chance to chat with Ericka about her journey and her commitment to inspire other filmmakers and creators to follow their dreams.

Ericka Nicole Malone is the CEO of Ericka Nicole Malone Entertainment along with her business partner Phillip Robinson.  They kicked off 2020 by presenting and hosting the Indie Director’s Spotlight at the Sundance Film Festival Park City, Live “The Cabin “on Main Street, which was rated one of the top 5 events at this past Sundance 2020.

As host and head panelist, Ericka Nicole Malone shared her career journey that includes playwright writing, directing, and producing over nine stage plays including, her hit touring musical stage play ‘In Love With Tyrone;’ Which starred Notable actors Leon & Robin Givens.

She then wrote and was Executive Producers of the television sitcom pilot, ‘Ward of the State,’ a story of a rich heiress who is forced to move in with her middle-class daughter after her fourth husband suddenly dies and leaves her penniless. Ward of the State helms the iconic Janet Hubert (Fresh Prince of Bel Air), Aloma Wright (Suits), and Vanessa Williams (Soul Food.)

Now emerging as a notable Screenwriter and Producer for both television and film, Ericka Nicole Malone is reintroducing her innate talent and writing ability to the world.
