The RRR Fan CelebRRRation begins March 3rd in over 200 US theaters, kicking off in LA on March 1st with the world’s largest screening of RRR at The Theatre at Ace Hotel, hosted by writer-director S.S. Rajamouli, composer M.M. Keeravaani, and global superstar Ram Charan.
Variance Films, Beyond Fest, American Cinematheque, Potentate, and Sarigama Cinemas are ecstatic to announce that RRR’s historic U.S. #encoRRRe and awards run will reach a fever pitch this March, starting with the world’s largest screening of RRR on Wednesday, March 1st and continuing with a national re-re-release roaring back into theaters across the U.S. beginning Friday, March 3rd.
At 7:30 pm on Wednesday, March 1st, global superstar Ram Charan (Alluri Sitarama Raju) will join writer-director S.S. Rajamouli, Golden Globe-winning composer M.M. Keeravaani (songwriter of the Academy Award® nominee for Best Original Song, ‘‘Naatu Naatu”), and additional special guests to be announced, live at the world’s largest screening of RRR. This one-night-only event, the RRR Fan CelebRRRation Live, will be presented by Variance Films, Beyond Fest, and American Cinematheque at The Theatre at Ace Hotel in Downtown Los Angeles.
This party isn’t just for Los Angeles, as starting Friday, March 3rd, the RRR Fan CelebRRRation will hit over 200 theaters across the US via Variance Films and Sarigama Cinemas. The original Telugu version of the film will be back on the big screen, playing everywhere from big-city megaplexes to the leading independent art houses to small-town venues, a historic third theatrical release in less than a year.
After its initial worldwide release in March 2022, RRR was re-released to US theaters by Variance Films, Sarigama Cinemas, and Potentate on June 1, 2022, for what was originally to be a “last chance” one-night-only event that is now in its thirty-seventh consecutive week on screen (and counting).
“Since our first screening of RRR over eight months ago, we’ve watched Rajamouli’s epic shatter cultural barriers and grow to become an all-out global phenomenon,” said Christian Parkes, co-founder of Beyond Fest. “Being able to give the film it’s biggest-ever screening in the original United Artists Theatre – one of the founding destinations of theatrical storytelling – is supremely poetic and the perfect venue to celebrate this modern masterpiece.”
The roar of RRR spread to awards season when S.S. Rajamouli was named Best Director by the New York Film Critics Circle. RRR has since received an Academy Award® nomination for Best Original Song for M.M. Keeravaani’s “Naatu Naatu,” two Golden Globe nominations and one win (nominated for Best Non-English Language Film and winning Best Original Song for “Naatu Naatu”), five Critics Choice Awards nominations and two wins (nominated for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Visual Effects, and winning Best Original Song and Best Foreign Language Film), been named Best Music/Score and runner-up for Best Director by the Los Angeles Film Critics Association, been named a top 10 film by the National Board of Review, and won over 23 regional/online critics association awards out of dozens of nominations.
Tickets for the Los Angeles screening will be available at https://www.axs.com/events/472902/rrr-fan-celebrrration-live-tickets and will go on sale at 12:00 PM Pacific on Thursday, February 23rd.
A DVV Entertainment Production, RRR is written and directed by S.S. Rajamouli from a story by K.V. Vijayendra Prasad, produced by D.V.V. Danayya, with music composed by M.M. Keeravaani.
